New Balance has long been an iconic brand with a serious cult following. In 2016 New Balance brought us a chunky version of the 990 and with the rise in trending “dad sneakers” and sneakerheads found themselves drawn to the style, silhouette, and comfort like never before.
In the 2 years since the 990v4 released Shoe City and YCMC.com have dropped limited edition colorways like the 990v4 Benjamin Bread to the 990v4 EAT edition. Sneakerheads knew the day would come when New Balance would unveil their next line in the 99X series and we are excited to announce the release of their latest 99X series; the 990v5.
The world got their first look at the silhouette during Paris Fashion Week on Junya Watanbe’s show. The 990v5 will also team up with COMME des Garcons for there take on the silhouette.
The most exciting part? Baltimore and DC will launch the 990v5 ahead of rest of the country who will launch weeks later. This launch will be in store only so you might have to take a road trip to cop a pair.
Launching along side of the Made in the USA 990v5 shoes are Made in the USA tee shirts and a hat built to complement the 990v5. Pick up the tees and hat online but be prepared to head to a local Shoe City store in the Baltimore/ DC area for the sneaker. Stay with us as the evolution of a local favorite continues.
Until then shop our New Balance selection here.
