April is National Autism Awareness Month
Shoe City x FILA F-13 “Puzzle Piece”
According to AutismSpeaks.org, autism affects 1 in 68 children and is one of the fastest-growing developmental disorders in the United States. In recognition of National Autism Awareness month, Shoe City and FILA collaborated for the second year in a row to design an exclusive, limited-edition shoe. Utilizing the heritage FILA silhouette, the F-13, the “Puzzle Piece” edition features a tumbled leather upper with contrasting suede overlays in light blue, the representative color of autism. Concluding the autism theme, the lining, footbed, and additional shoelaces are all symbolically decorated with multi- colored puzzle pieces, the international symbol of autism.
Having partnered with Autism Speaks to raise money since 2008, the F-13 “Puzzle Piece” was created to help further autism research, awareness, and advocacy, but also to offer invaluable help and hope to thousands of people whose lives are touched by autism every day. The Shoe City x FILA F-13 “Puzzle Piece” will be available on Thursday, April 20 in men’s, grade school and preschool sizes exclusively at select Shoe City locations and on YCMC.com at 10am EST. Priced at $79.99 (men’s), $64.99 (grade school), and $59.99 (preschool), proceeds from each shoe purchased will be donated to Autism Speaks.
