The Jordan brand has unveiled their holiday collection for men and women. The upcoming months feature the biggest and best drops of the year for Air Jordan fans. This holiday taps into a feeling of nostalgia going deep into the archives for new retro releases.
A true holiday surprise will come in the form of the original Retro 18 colorway. The year was 2003 and the colorway was Black/Sport Royal. This marked the last retro Michael Jordan would wear on the courts. It makes sense the Jordan has decided to re-release it for the holiday season. It makes the perfect gift for any true fan.
The other releases do not disappoint either. The Air Jordan 6 takes a cue from the Air Trainer SC II, the same one Jordan wore in his early years to the Air Jordan 3 now intertwined with the designs of the Air Trainer 1.
Next on the list is the Air Jordan 8 that shares its cross strap feature with the Air Raid 1. The colorway releasing is influenced by the 1993 colorway “peace” Air Raid II.
Rounding out the holidays is the Retro 10 with a Huarache Light colorway (Style ID 310805-408)
The Retro 8 with Turbo Green and Hyper Pink hits
And a Retro 11 with a nubuck and ballistic mesh finish.
The ladies are not left out for the Jordan holiday. The front story is “Flight Utility, and it’s about designing for the future — extrapolating from the core Jordan Brand DNA along an innovation and function-first approach.” ( Nike News.com). In this pack the Jordan design team will include updates of the Retro 1, Retro 4 with premium materials and new colorways.
The Retro 1 will be available in unisex sizes of the Golden Harvest/Black that is inspired by the clothes MJ wore when he accepted the Rookie of the Year Award. The collar flaps are adorned with his rookie numbers and feature a quote from his speech.
The next Retro 1 Racer Blue is almost identical to the 1985 original but instead of leather is encased in nubuck.
]The Air Rebel Concord was released earlier in the year in the red/black colorway this holiday you will see it in patent black and white leather upper with an icy outsole. Instead of the number 23 you will find 45 on the heel. Sure to be a quick sell through as were its predecessors.
The busy holiday season at Jordan will also be dropping a “Fire Red” 4 with an all red upper , black highlighting and a gum outsole.
A holiday feel brings us to the Air Jordan Retro 11 Olive Lux. The premium look and feel of this silhouette offer a soft green suede upper instead of the previously dropped patent upper. Rounding it out the 11 also comes with a gold Jumpman at the heel, a printed serial number on the insole and metallic hints on the aglets.
Release dates are starting to trickle in as of now. What’s your favorite?? Look for these styles in the coming months and we gear up for a Jordan holiday.
