Born from the already iconic 574 the 57/40 capitalized off the booming dad-shoe phenom and added in colorways most famously seen in the 80s and 90s. Every release is different and offers a new perspective for the lineup. Classic lines are moved, creating a silhouette that’s fashion-forward. The ever-present “N” logo is enlarged for a graphic appeal.
The iconic CR device remains familiar but reimagined in a contemporary, exaggerated way that is ideal for color blocking. The sole unit offers a contemporary expression with two midsoles stacked – one inspired by 90’s heritage with a wider, wavy design, and the other a traditional 574 midsole. The enlarged off-road outsole is a throwback to the trail heritage of the 574. The New Balance 57/40 also includes ‘The Intelligent Choice’ tongue label like its companion, the 327.
New colorways are always dopping giving everyone a chance to find themselves in the 57/40. Our first feature is the Oyster/Pink/Blue edition which manages to bring neutrals and exciting uses of color together perfectly.
The Henna colorway is muted and interesting to look at from toe to heel. It seems like the perfect addition to any fall wardrobe and while it’s guaranteed to go with everything it is in no way ordinary.
Light Cliff Grey with Velocity Red takes every trending color and somehow creates a cohesive and dynamic sneaker. With textures like mesh and suede, it doesn’t miss a single opportunity.

Our last addition in this 57/40 is Incense with Sour Grape. Another heavy-hitting neutral with the purple peeking through various elements like the “N” logo and the heel.
