Born and raised in West Baltimore Kid Balloon is a self taught artist turned cultural icon that started at a young age. His recollections of art began as a child watching Bob Ross paint on PBS. So he drew... and drew and was inspired by what makes people different. He told me when we spoke, "what makes you different is your superpower". In Kid Balloons art he stirs raw emotions of the celebration of life and to become the very best version of yourself. He hopes that each person that sees his artistry will see a piece of themselves in it.
7 years of art shows began the foundation to his passion. The true turning point in his fashion endeavor was his relationship with mentor Adrian Curial where Kid Balloon helped him design and learn the business through other fashion brands and learned what it takes to venture into and develop the Kid Balloon brand. For the past 3 years the art shows have taken on a new venture that allows his fans to wear a piece of his art. he began printing and embroidering shirts for his art events.
Shoe City took notice; at the Urban Summit Kid Balloon was already in the midst of hearing from our men's buyer and landed himself a line of clothing in local hometown Shoe City stores and nationwide on ycmc.com.
His screen printed tees allow you to own your very own piece of his art collection.
Artist turned cultural icon, Kid Balloon has used his strong imagery to create positive imagery since 2012. His current collab with YCMC and Shoe City shows that his brand is genre-less and flexible with no intentions of being bound to one form of expression.
