In celebration of one its most popular iconic silhouettes, New Balance is set to release an exclusive run of the "1982" MADE 990v4. In the spring of 1978, New Balance set out on an ambitious undertaking to develop the very best running shoe they were technically capable of, regardless of the time it took or the money it cost. As New Balance continued to push the limits of design and comfort the 990 was born in 1982, the first ever sneaker to cost $100. New Balance will pay homage with a limited edition release, dropping 1,500 pairs of 990v4’s at the original price point of $100 in select cities around the world. The sneaker is constructed of the same pigskin suede and mesh upper as the original with navy blue branding hits on the brand's signature "N" logo, tongue tag, heel, and heel embroidery.

Originally created as a performance runner, over the past three decades the 990 has become a favorite throughout the DMV as a casual sneaker. The New Balance MADE 990v4 "1982," will release at select pop-up locations globally and in Baltimore / Washington, D.C. in partnership with Shoe City April 14 from 10a.m. - 7p.m. while supplies last.
