New Balance Drops Three 550 Colorways on May 7th

New Balance seemingly has a never ending catalogue of retro styles that need to come back immediately and luckily the basketball ready shoe of the late 80's made its comeback in 2020. This year the 550 is getting even more love with alternative colorways dropping on 5/7 at 10am. The 550 was originally called the P550 model boasting the low top look with premium leather uppers. The same can be said for the new drops. Taking the time honored silhouette and not changing it too much seems to be a win for sneakers all around, especially as New Balance continues reaching back into their time capsule.
First up is the Sea Salt/Black 500 colorway. Smooth white leather upper becomes the base for the standout leather perforations on the side panels. The colorway uses Black to tint the panels edges giving your foot some major swagger.
Both sides have the N logo seen on all your favorite New Balance shoes and on the lateral side you get the 550 branding to the forefront. The Black hits also come out on the overlay by the ankle, piping details, and the outsole.
If you like something a little beyond a classic black and white then New Balance is also dropping the 550 in Sea Salt/Varsity Gold to heat up the summer. (This also happens to be my first choice of the 3. Who can say no to eye popping colors? )Smooth white leather upper becomes the base for the standout leather perforations on the side panels.
The colorway uses University Gold to tint the panels edges giving your foot some major swagger. Both sides have the N logo seen on all your favorite New Balance shoes and on the lateral side you get the 550 branding to the forefront. The University Gold hits also come out on the overlay by the ankle, piping details, and the outsole.
Maybe a little less flashy then the University Gold but still a standout in classic colorways the 550 takes on Sea Salt/Burgundy as the third and final drop for the 7th. Smooth white leather upper becomes the base for the standout leather perforations on the side panels.
The colorway uses Burgundy to tint the panels edges giving your foot some major swagger. Both sides have the N logo seen on all your favorite New Balance shoes and on the lateral side you get the 550 branding to the forefront. The Burgundy hits also come out on the overlay by the ankle, piping details, and the outsole.
Don't sleep on these, you'll miss out. Dropping on May 7th 10am EST. Grab your favorite or buy all three because choosing isn't easy. Stay tuned for more New Balance 550 drops in 2021.
