I recently got an opportunity to style the beautiful MC from Los Angeles, Marz Lovejoy for her latest music video "Dolo." This was definitely one of those mission impossible projects, but somehow I managed to pull it off. From the moment I got the call I had 24 hours to meet with the artist, come up with the looks, pull pieces from showrooms, my personal closet, go shopping and be ready on set 6am the next day. Marz loves rocking the lastet kicks with top streetwear brands, we decided to mix her edgy look with a touch of vintage and feminine style.
Marz has made her mark on the hip-hop community with the release of her debut EP, "This Little Light Of Mine,"she gained critical praise in April 2010 when she appeared on Pac Div’s hit, “Shine. Since then she has toured the country sharing the stage with the likes of Eykah Badu, Wiz Khalifa, Curren$y, Wu-Tang Clan, Yelawolf, and more. She recently just wrapped filming for director John Stockwell's forthcoming film, "Kid Cannabis" and earlier this year, Marz made her cinematic debut in Common's "LUV" which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Marz Lovejoy is currently working with Grammy Award winning producer Om'Mas Keith (Frank Ocean, Odd Future), who has signed-on to executive produce her debut album, "Elephant Soundz" set to release later this year.
