Since the day it launched 30 years ago, the Air Max 90 has been an icon of culture. The classic silhouette and bold use of Nike’s Air technology stand unchanged and undisputed for good reason. This latest version uses luxury materials and an eye-catching Hyper Grape colorway to show off the shoe’s signature shapes that true fans can recognize from blocks away. For those that want a little more support, this edition includes removable anatomical arch supports designed to complement the classic ride of the Max Air unit.

Nike's Air Max 90 celebrates 30 years with OG drops. Until the year 2000 the Air Max 90 was the Air Max III. That year the name was changed to Air Max 90, in celebration of the release year. Tinker Hatfield, creator and designer was known for his architectural skills and applied them to the Nike Air Max 90. The silhouette features an exaggerated midsole to show off visible Air. Everything about this second Air Max is excessive in the best of ways but the original release was considered a rare Nike miss for buyers, even with Michael Jordan sporting the design. The 90’s brought a chunkier training shoe and the Air Max 90 did not disappoint. It was a few decades ahead of its time and now that we are seeing a resurgence of the 90’s bulky ‘dad shoes’ the Air Max 90 has made its way into the closets of collectors and Nike fanatics. When you thing of an Air Max this style might be the one that immediately comes to mind even for consumers not familiar with the iconic sneaker. The Air Max 90 remains a classic with core colors in white and black but the special colorways like Volt and Hyper Grape are what still drive the Air Max 90.
