The Look of the Week: The Trendsetter

The Look of the Week: The Trendsetter

"The Trendsetter" The Trendsetter doesn't care what color combinations match or don't. Trendsetters aren't afraid of taking a few risks when it comes to the final delivery of an outfit. Here we clashed a combination of two different style camo prints starting with the Diamond Supply Co. Un-Polo Rain Camo Tee and Crooks & Castles Double Barrel Sweatpant. We're offering two footwear options: the Reebok Shaqnosis "Barracks" and Timberland's very popular Field Boot, in the "Beef and Broccoli" colorway. The Miami Heat Nylon Zipback hat from Mitchell & Ness is a subtle addition, but pulls the entire look together.

Part Two: YCMC Goes Behind the Scenes at Reebok

Part Two: YCMC Goes Behind the Scenes at Reebok

Welcome to the second part of our visual installation documenting our trip to Boston: Our visit to Reebok. At Reebok we met Sean Finucane, head of the Classics for Kids and basketball for the U.S. He showed us how being allies with YCMC helps Reebok to better target their market in local neighborhoods. "Shoe City is almost an extension of marketing, helping us get closer to the consumer," he commented. After crossing the amazing basketball courts and gym where the employees played, we stopped at one of the stores inside the building. Here we met with Ryan Cross, Director of Men's Classic footwear. Ryan expressed to us how vast the heritage at Reebok is and how far the archives go back. In fact, just walking through the Reebok hallways was like a journey through the history of the brand. Ryan said that it's easy to come into the office and find inspiration for new design and direction just by looking at the past: "Arguably [Reebok was] one of the most innovative brands in the 90's with 'The Pump' and Hexalite technology. " Ryan feels Reebok will continue to reinvent themselves and stay relevant. [youtube id="CpXWInwrysw" width="620" height="360"]
The Look of the Week: "The Cool"

The Look of the Week: "The Cool"

YCMC continues to deliver an amazing line-up of brands which feature some of the best collections for Fall/Winter 2013. As the seasons change, our style evolves with them, so take a look as we outline how to put it all together. "The Cool" is a look that delivers a ton of edge and class, but remains true to the style of the Fall/Winter season. Here we've paired a New Era Miami Heat 59FIFTY fitted cap and complemented it with The Undefeated Tiger Satin Snap Jacket. The underlining Buckshot Thermal by Crooks & Castles adds a clean, classic look with a hit of camouflage along the two-button placket. Keeping with the camo theme, the tiger print Flat Front Camo Pant from Rothco is rounded out with Timberland's most iconic boot silhouette, the 6-Inch Premium Waterproof Boot. "The Cool" is a look which works well for any casual outing.

Frank151 x Diamond Supply Co.‏

YCMC had the pleasure of attending a private event at Barnes & Nobles in Union Square (NYC) alongside iconic media company Frank151, Nick Diamond, hip-hop artist Currensy and the good folks of Diamond Supply Co. The event was a celebratory 15-year anniversary of FRANK151 and their limited edition collaboration with West Coast streetwear giant Diamond Supply Co. The printed hundred plus page publication focuses on the early days of the Diamond Supply Co. brand and it's growth throughout the skate community over the years. Brand founder Nick Diamond discussed an array of different topics from creating skate hardware and transitioning the brand into an accessories and apparel company over the last decade. He advised a young intrigued audience on how to successfully start a brand, development of a brand identity along with marketing and advertising procedures. This intimate event was a great experience for all who were in attendance. Tons of kids lined up to meet Nick Diamond and receive his John Hancock on a copy of the Frank 151 Chapter 53 issue.
